Character Rules
1. Use the form provided. You may make minor adjustments, such as add something things as needed, change the font or color. However do you best to keep to the format that has been provided to make acceptance easier for the staff.
2. You must have an image of some sort. I perfer either drawn images or templates that have been used and given credit to those who created the templates that you use. Canon Characters however can have screen shots from the series.
3. Wait until your character is accepted before rping. No exceptions. I'm not going to point fingers at those who have a tendency to do this. So before rping, you must wait until a staff member has looked over your bio and accepted that your character is not in danger of god-moding/powerplaying.
4. All characters must be BALANCED! When I say balanced I mean not invincible/god-like or perfect. There can be no unbeatable characters. A god-like character that is perfect in all things such as Social: the ability to make friends and get along with others, Physical: The ability to fight and attack, Mental: the ability to rationalize and be intelligent. Choose one thing for your character to be good at; like fighting. That would be physical, the choose one thing that your character is bad at. Such as making friends. Not being trusted or loyal is an example of this. Finally pick something that your character is okay/so-so at. Like being smart, maybe they understand things better than some.
5. We are not mean people here. Staff and members alike are here to help in any way they can. However when it comes to character creation we're a bit picky about it. Don't be surprised if a staff member wants you to change something on your character creation forum and don't take it personally.
6. Characters are supposed to be realistic within the confines of the Ginga series. So no wings or horns or anything mythical like that.
7. Since characters in the Ginga anime have been portrayed in various colors, styles and marking patterns. Your character's appearance may stretch the boundaries or realism. They can be red, gold, yellow, silver, green, pink or blue wearing clothing, piercings and even have human weapons.
8. Character size must fall within the show regulated size range for their breed. So no 36 in tall terriers. If you don't know how tall your character is supposed to be, go to the Height/Weight list to find out.
9. Because this site takes place exactly one year after Weed takes over there can be no look alikes of Weed and Gin or any of the original characters because of all original characters will be made and put up for adoption and can be adopted but only by active members.
10. All fighting techniques that are in the anime are in a list that you can choose from which will cost you some cash. If your character has a particular move that they use let me know through pm and I will debate on either adding it to the list or not. I will reply to your pm within a week.
11. Characters must be kept on one account NO EXCEPTIONS!
12. When it comes time to name you character, try not to choose a name that has already been taken. Particularly if it is unique. Whoever uses a name first generally has claimed the name, meaning they have the right to decide whether or not another person can use that same name or not. So, if you try to use their character's name, you must respect their wishes with the name if they ask you to change it. Likewise when asking someone to change their character's name and be nice about it. It's not to start a fight over. There is a list of used names in the character creation section that you can look over.
13. If your character is related to an original character please keep in mind that you will have to pay a small fee for that. Ex. Butch (Grandson of Moss) - $25
14. Consent, for those of use who don't know applies to fight and powerplaying. It basically decrees at what point an action is considered powerplaying and at what point it isn't.
15. Limited Consent, meaning all outcomes of a fight, battle or any other sort of action (such as a bite, single attack or whatever) are to be decided based on common sense. Use common sense. However, under limited consent, you are allowed to 'out' of an injury or other sort of even that may result in your character's death. So, injuries, actions, battles and other such events should be governed primarily through logic and reasonable assumptions, based on a character's size, physical capabilities, mental capabilities, experiences, knowledge, and situational circumstances. However, the death of a character is ultimately controlled by the player.
16. Put simply you cannot control another member's character(s). You can, however speak up or even alert a staff member whenever another member makes a silly decision to safeguard their character, which is against the rules but allowed to avoid character death.
17. If caught power playing the punishment will be banned for a limited time by me(Admin).
18. All actions, attacks or otherwise should be open ended so whether or not the action is successful is determined by the other member.
19. A member has full say if and when a character dies. A character's death is controlled by the member.
20. All actions should be conducted logically and characters should not be 'over glorified' in any way. So no dodging every single assault or having a small weighted dog throw a heavy weighted dog.
21. Just as a general rule, you can only dodge four times in a row. The fifth attack will always be hit. If your character is already pinned they should get hit/bitten repeatedly until they get away from their attacker, especially if their attacker is larger than them and holding them down securely. But, if just generally fighting and lunging at one another, attacks can only be completely missed four times in a row and hit on the fifth time.
22. Fights won't be judges unless the members continue to try to best each other.
23. Fights over territory or over pack rank/leadership are serious and will be judged by a staff member. After a certain number of posts, the staff member will declare a winner based on character size, experience, demeanor, physical prowess/strength, situational circumstances, and based on the occurrences within in the fight itself.
24. In the case that a fight severely even fight, the winner will be chosen via coin toss.
25. Fights may occur over mates/females, territorial control (in case of a massive war between packs) or over rank within a pack. Females may fight with males to protect offspring or their mate, or to just simply show the boys up. Fights happen all the time in real life so we don't limit the reasons why they might crop up.
26. To make accepting characters easy for everyone the character bio has a few questions that based on "Yes/No/Somewhat" answers. Each category is rated with "Strong/Average/Weak". Follow the questions and choose which category will be strong, average or weak. The questions make it quickly and easy for the staff to read over the bios and accept characters faster.
27. So to help everyone understand the questions sections better each section has seven questions. Here are three examples of how the questions work: Character 1: Physical - Strong, Mental - Weak, Social - Average. Character 2: Physical - Weak, Mental - Average, Social - Strong. Character 3: Physical - Average, Mental: Strong, Social - Weak.
28. All original characters will be made by me(Admin) and then put up for adoption or NPC so that members can adopt or use a character from the original series. Remember no god-like characters.
29. Characters don't have to be dogs or even animals native to Japan. However characters still have to fit into the setting and environment of the site. Meaning that a short haired seeing eye dog will need some sort of protection from the elements. A tiger or lion shouldn't just appear out of nowhere and start living in Japan. The tiger or lion should have an explaination of how it got here in the first place.
30. All sorts of creatures are allowed however some animals that aren't human, domestic cat or dog will need to be bought with the cash that you earn from posting.
31. Cash can be used to get fighting techniques, magic and other animals. There will be certain boards that won't allow you get cash to use. Certain characters like hellhounds, Kaibutsu being an example will cost a good chuck of cash. Other then the boards that will not give cash most boards when you reply to them will.
32. There is no limit to fighting techniques that a character can have. But don't go wild and take all the fighting techniques and have no means of paying for it.
33. Magic techniques are a bit different there can only be two magic techniques to each character unless you ask a staff member if you can get another one. I would perfer that those who want to get an extra magic technique that those members pm me and I will give the answer within a week.
